Lovely textures.

I just came across this home of Roman Alonso, creative director of Commune. I saw it first over at moodboard.
I love all of the layered textures, bright art and patterned rugs. It reminds me of my grandparent's house, but with a bit more drama.

In other news, we're on vacation in California! More on that later.

Teal and Mustard.

Yes, please!

I love this bedroom of Ben Brougham, seen on The House That Lars Built. (She got it from elsewhere, but you can go to her site if you want all the details).

Oh boy do I love teal and yellow with gold details. How wonderful is that mustard metal bed frame?

Furniture makeover inspiration.

I just came across this desk makeover on Design*Sponge. I was planning on doing a bit of thrift shopping for a dresser for the baby's room tomorrow, and this before and after has me even more excited to find something I can really fix up.

Whatever I find, I want to use a punchy color, as the walls in our house are all white. Cross your fingers that I'll find something wonderful I can work with for a great price!

Bedroom in a closet!

This kid's bedroom is in a closet! And it's awesome! I love the colorful styling and simple, ever-so-cute toys.

See more of the details here.

Ooo those shelves.

I am really loving this room with its grays and its beautiful thick wooden shelves.

I would probably throw a pop of intense color in there, but that's just me.

Bunk Beds

I'm in love with this older kid's room from Domino (I found it over at Little Green Notebook). The only thing that really makes it a "kid's room" are the bunk beds. The colors and styling are something I would love in my grown-up's room! Give me that rug!

Living with kids.

...should be colorful, full of pillows and include a nice big rug.
Or at least that's how I see it.

I'll take any of the following...

Rudy and I will be moving come August when our lease is up to save some money for when the baby comes. Any of these would be just fine.
My wish list for a place? Lots of light. An open feeling (our house right now is so narrow and tall). A shower head that I don't have to bend down to use...is that so much to ask?
I've been doing waaaaay to much browsing in Living Etc's Galleries.
I can't be held responsible for the hours you will lose on that site if you click over.

Yes please.

I'm saying yes to the interiors just as much as this designer's name.

Clocks, clocks, clocks.

Our house is pretty devoid of clocks, except for our awesome math one with equations for each number. All of these and more from Fey Handmade would definitely do the trick.

Kitchen floor.

I got this photo from Design*Sponge a long time ago, (in fact, I can't remember if I've posted it here before or not), and really love the black and white floor. I would love to tear out the horrible and peeling floor in our bathroom and replace it with something like this. Is having stripes on one of our bedroom walls and on the bathroom floor too much? The two rooms are separated by a long hall and two other rooms, so it might not be.

Wishing you a beautiful Christmas.

While I know that these photos are not "Christmas-y" in the traditional sense, they give me such a cozy good feeling when I look at them. And that my friend is very fitting for this holiday.

They are from the free online magazine Lonny.
Rudy and I just got home from a wonderful Christmas Eve service at our church. While we were singing, I couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the feeling that we are exactly where we need to be, and have been led here by God...to Columbus, to this church, to my job and to our home.

So even though there are presents under the tree and we'll be spending tomorrow with family, I want to remember now what Christmas is all about. I'm so thankful for Christ and His love and many blessings.

Wood and blue.

Just got a peek at this funky fresh home in Chicago via ApartmentTherapy. I really love the kitchen's shelving units and the way the wood looks with the blue in the living room!
I also really love these shelves. They remind me a bit of some at my grandparent's home here in Columbus, (my grandma was an interior designer years ago, and has excellent taste).

PS. Sorry for my blogging absence lately, I've been working like crazy between the coffee shop and babysitting! Hopefully this weekend I will get a chance to snap some pictures of our Christmas tree and share them here.

Pink sheep skin rug?

Yes please.

Bed Alcove.

This photo from LoftLife has me ready to move our bed back into the little sleeping nook. Would you look at that lighting fixture and puddling drapery?? Yowzaa!

Can someone turn this room into a dress?

First of all, I'm in love with this bedroom from House to Home.
Secondly, I would love to have a spring dress with the flower print on the top and a flowy bottom from the window treatments.

Neutral explorer's loft.

Earlier I said that I wanted an old chest for our living room, and my inspiration for this desire came from this loft, featured in the New York Times home and garden section. To see the whole article, go here. The chest and the tripod lamp make me feel like this loft is home to an explorer, and that might be the direction I'd like to take our living room.
I love how the inside of the books set a neutral background for the bed area.
