Scale tights.

I always wanted to be a mermaid.
These tights can help.

Can someone turn this room into a dress?

First of all, I'm in love with this bedroom from House to Home.
Secondly, I would love to have a spring dress with the flower print on the top and a flowy bottom from the window treatments.

Holiday style.

If I ever have a fantastically fancy holiday cocktail party to attend in my life-time, this is what I will wear:

A little black dress (a la Breakfast at Tiffany's).

This chunky number of a necklace.

A small Skeleton Key ring, and some simple ballet flats.

Add champagne et voila!

Dress like a dandy and ride your bike.

Last Sunday in D.C. , hundreds of bikers took to the streets dressed as dandies in tweed and Victorian lace. I'm in love. To see the whole article, and many more photos like this, go here.
For the NPR story and even more photos, go here.
Photos shown here are from the first link.
SO! How 'bout it Columbus, who's with me?

Fall necklaces.

PetitesCuriosities

I went exploring on Etsy today thinking of Thanksgiving parties and all the pretty colors around me every day. I love the antique feel to all of these and their burnished bronzy chains.

Well dressed man on a bike.

To my handsome Rudy,
If you grew up to look like this, I would not be mad.

Where the Wild Things Are.

Rudy and I have watched the trailer for the upcoming movie version of Where the Wild Things Are many times. It look amazing. The trailer also features one of my very favorite Arcade Fire songs. It even makes me a little emotional. This has always been one of my most beloved books. It is sitting on my shelf as I type. I can't wait for it to come out!

While perusing some blogs today, I came across this fashion line inspired by the film. Enjoy:)

I first saw the line at Design Dig.
The whole thing can be found here.

Boots and hair.

{This isn't me}

I just came across this photo of one of my new favorite reads, Busy Bee's Blog. I've been trying to grow my hair out again, and I like this style. It seems like a good next step in the process.

Also, how great are those boots?

Layla clothing, etc.

I just came across Layla while reading a new online magazine that will have a post of its own. Next time I'm in New York I will definitely be stopping by the Brooklyn store.
{I see a bit of Frida on the right, don't you?}

I love the clothing in their fall 09 line, but I especially love the photographs! So colorful and set in India. Gorgeous.

Coat inspiration.

This is my 101th post! Congratulations to me:)

This afternoon I set about the task of taking apart a coat that my grandma gave me and putting it back together in a much more flattering way. {More pictures and how I did it to come}.

I just saw this photo on {frolic!} and thought I could use it for a bit of inspiration. I love the brown coat with its dramatic sleeves and cinched waist.

The photo was found originally here.

Looking forward to...

Wool tights and cardigans. Minus the heels. I am tall enough thank you very much.

A peek at things to come.

I love just about everything about this photo from this month's issue of Martha Stewart Living. Mmm, autumn.

I also love that just a few miles away from our house, we can find a place that looks like this. Bird masks and boots, here I come.

A girl with her bike.

From Urban Weeds street style from Portland.
This almost looks like my bike.

Lets pause for some clothes, shall we?

While most of my time has been spent dreaming of finds for our new digs, I can't help but drool over some seriously cute clothes. With fall approaching fast, and with it cold weather, it's about time to start thinking about layering. I need to get my hands on some of these colorful tights and simple dresses!

I'm in love with the skinny jean/stripy sock/cute flats combo.
"Hello! I'm adorable!"

Thanks Kate Spade. Always a pleasure.

Today I think I will go to Paris...

...and I will wear this dress.

If only that could be true.
But a girl can dream can't she?

Paris photos from Alicia Bock
and her beautiful blog is here.
